IOT - Internet of things.

What is IOT ?
As the name says, IOT stands for Internet Of Things. You know what is internet, and how t can be used, and how it can improve human life.
We live in a world where we are very much attached to electric and electronic devices, gadgets, and other stuffs. We always want to (or like to) have a smart phone, or a laptop to be with us which allows us to to get connected with people all over the world.
Wouldn't that be great, if we are also able to get connected to other electronic/electrical gadgets.

So, there is where IOT comes into role.

Its the technological concept of connecting devices, so that we are able to control the remote devices located far, may be any where around the world.

Why IOT?

Why do i need facebook or a gmail ? or any other media from where we are getting informations?
We are human beings [ lazy :)], we are lazy to go near a TV to change channels, so we use remote. Likewise, its good, if i have a remote for any device at my home. May be a washing machine, which we can switch it on or of remotely, which you forgot to switch it ON, before you go to office.

IOT allows us to connect to those remote devices through the internet.


How is it possible?
Hope you guys know, that the internet is providing connectivity by providing IP address for the network connections. The protocol which was being used, was the IPV4, which is 32 bit addressing format. and the number of devices which could be addresses with this 32 bit was 2 powered32(2^32).
In our current world, where we are trying to provide internet connectivity to any and every device, which create a short fall in the un-allocated IP address. Thus for overcoming this, we have implemented a better addressing, with the protocol IPv6.

IPv6 allows to address 2^128 devices, because it is a 128 bit address representation. and which avails a plenty of IP address, so that we can provide IP address to a lots of devices. So we can set IP address to any washing machine, or car, or TV or any electronic device.


What can be the future?

People want to improve their life style, and companies will think through to provide devices and gadgets , which will definitely develops a wide market for IOT related products and applications.
Expecting millions and trillions of dollar market, of electronic, electrical and software in and around IOT
